We specialize in gold edging Bibles and other books that are valued and cherished.
Book Gilding Explained
Gilding is the process of adding a decorative and protective coating to the edges of a book's pages. For example, books with gold or silver page edges have been gilded. We offer this option to add a beautiful element to your volume, and you are invited to send us a book in order to receive a definitive quote. We gild a variety of books: family Bibles that have lost their original foil edges, a favorite book and more. Send in your book today!
The Process
We will attempt to preserve your existing book cover if desired, but there is no guarantee that we will be successful. Replacement leather book covers are available starting at $150. We offer gold and silver edges for approximately $75, or you can opt for real 22k gold for $150+. Please note that removing a book from its original cover can cause some damage. We can perform any necessary repairs or replacements for $15+. As professional book gilders, you can depend on us to deliver high quality results.

In order to re-gild a book, we must take the book out of its cover. This sometimes may destroy the cover, but we are willing to make an attempt. If we cannot save the cover, we can make another leather cover for you. We will call or email the options you may have. A new leather cover glued back on to your book may be in the area of $150 and up. Once the book is taken out of the cover, it may need some repairs or at least new end sheets starting at about $15 and up. Next, we will trim and sand your book for a gold or silver edge. This is around $75. We can also do 22k real gold for about $150.

In the gilding process we are working with the book you send us. Sometimes there are factors beyond our control that may have an effect on the finish. For example old or used books may have oils that either prevent gold from adhering or may adhere differently. Sometimes there may be irregularities in the paper, etc.

Books that have bent corners are the responsibility of the sender to straighten before sending. If pages are missed we are not responsible.
